The Library Ship Saga

On a visit to old Sacramento with my family, an exhibit on the influence of the Wells Fargo wagon on the frontier made me think about how it would be for colonists in another star system without faster-than-light travel. After retiring from my engineering career in 2009, I used that inspiration and published the Tau Ceti trilogy: “A Ship From Earth,” “The New Colonists,” and “The Immortality Conspiracy.” That effort spawned new ideas for the universe I had created, and the two Methuselah novels, the Capek novella, and the Ambassador novels followed.

Early on

I’ve been writing science fiction since grammar school, but didn’t start writing seriously until I retired in 2009. The first book in the Tau Ceti trilogy, introducing the Library Ship Saga, was Tau Ceti: A Ship from Earth, published in 2014. A revised edition, incorporating some of the feedback I’ve gotten from my readers, will be released later in 2023.

Current

My next novel, The Ambassador: Mission to Kitar (working title), a sequel to The Ambassador: Mission to Earth, will be released later in 2026. In 2025, I released Energy Unlimited, the first of two novels telling the story of the building of first star ships late in this century.
